Don Bosco Chinchwad Inaugurates CNC Lab, Strengthens Skill Development
Don Bosco Chinchwad reached a historic milestone with the blessing of a newly installed CNC Machine and the inauguration of its first-ever Advanced Fitter Course, a three-month program made possible through the sponsorship of KSB.
The initiative marks a major leap in equipping young people with industry-relevant skills for modern manufacturing and engineering. Twenty trainees have already enrolled in the inaugural batch, where they will gain hands-on training in Advanced Fitter Techniques, Hydraulics & Pneumatics, CNC Programming, and CNC Machine Operation Simulation. The course will conclude in December 2025, preparing participants for high-demand careers in the industrial sector.
Fr. Colbert da Silva, Administrator of the institute, blessed the CNC machine and the new batch, urging trainees to “embrace the opportunity, learn diligently, and secure their future with industry-relevant skills.” Fr. Anton D’Souza, Director, described the launch as a “lucky and historic first,” highlighting the significance of CNC skills in today’s job market.
The management extended heartfelt gratitude to KSB for its generous support in setting up a state-of-the-art lab, supplying the CNC machine, and making advanced technical training accessible to youth.
By combining modern equipment with specialized training, Don Bosco Chinchwad has positioned itself as a crucial hub for skill development, directly bridging the gap between education and employability. For young trainees, this step promises not only technical expertise but also a stronger foothold in the competitive industries shaping India’s future.
