Don Bosco Job Placement Network Empowers Youth at PMNAM 2025 Job Fair
The Don Bosco Job Placement Network (JPN), under the auspices of the Don Bosco Konkan Development Society, empowered over 25 young job seekers from Goa and Karnataka through a two-day initiative that combined employability skills training with participation in the Prime Minister's National Apprenticeship Mela (PMNAM) 2025 Job Fair. The event was held on September 26 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, organized by the Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of Goa, in collaboration with Government ITIs of Margao, Vasco, and Canacona.
On September 25, JPN conducted an employability skills training session at Don Bosco Fatorda to prepare participants for the job fair. The session focused on resume writing, building interview confidence, and orientation on navigating a job fair. Mock interviews and personalized feedback helped boost participants' self-assurance, as they actively engaged in refining their resumes and learning strategies to impress recruiters.
The following day, JPN extended comprehensive support to its registered candidates—mainly fresh graduates and early-career seekers—through on-site guidance and job placement assistance. The team facilitated direct interactions with more than 15 employers from diverse sectors, including manufacturing, hospitality, IT hardware, and logistics. Companies like Siemens Ltd. in Verna and Holiday Inn Resort in Cavelossim offered interviews and placement opportunities. The day resulted in over 25 on-the-spot interviews, three confirmed job offers, and several candidates shortlisted for further rounds.
JPN also built rapport with company representatives, securing commitments from seven firms to conduct exclusive recruitment drives in collaboration with the network.
Participants reported a 75 percent increase in confidence and readiness for employment, crediting the program for transforming them into proactive job seekers. The initiative reaffirmed JPN's mission of bridging skill gaps, creating sustainable career pathways, and empowering youth to thrive in competitive job markets.
