Don Bosco College Higher Secondary Section Tura, Meghalaya, in collaboration with North Eastern Hill University(NEHU) Tura Campus, conducted a workshop on Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET) for Students of Class XII from 9th to 12th January 2023.  Dr Binu Mathew, Chairman for College Welfare and Advisory Committee, NEHU, Tura Campus, was the resource person. The workshop was attended by 650 students.

The Forest Man of India,  Padma Shri Mr. Jadav "Molai" Payeng joined the scouts and guides on New Year’s Day of 2023 for the plantation drive wherein over 3500 saplings were planted in the Assam Don Bosco University, Tapesia campus, Guwahati, Assam. This was to give the participants of the 14th National Boscoree an impetus of working towards a closer relationship with mother earth.

Most Reverend Andrew R. Marak, Bishop of Tura blessed and inaugurated the Orestes Marengo Memorial Chapel at Bosco Mount, Rongkhon Parish, Tura, Meghalaya.

The South Asia Delegate for Salesian Brothers, Br Joby Mani, animated the Salesian Brothers of Guwahati Province on the Identity of the Salesian Brother in the Church and the world at Bosco Mount, Tura, Meghalaya on December 3, 2022.

Pope Francis has appointed Fr. George Plathottam SDB, belonging to the Salesian Province of Guwahati, Assam, India as a Consultor to the Dicastery for Communications. The news came along with the announcement of “Speak with the heart: Veritatem facientes in caritate” as the theme for the 57th World Communications Day 2023. Father George Plathottam is currently the Secretary of the Office of Social Communication of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences (FABC). With a doctorate in communication, he has been a journalist and communication professor in New Delhi, before moving to Manila to take up the FABC assignment.

Assam Governor Professor Jagdish Mukhi conferred degrees at the 11th Convocation of Assam Don Bosco University at Tapesia Campus, Sonapur, on September 10. The degrees were conferred on 984 students, of which 472 students received Bachelor's Degree in Engineering & Technology, Arts and basic sciences and 494 students received Master's Degree in various branches of Engineering, Science and Management. Eighteen scholars received Doctoral degrees. Gold Medals were awarded to 36 outstanding graduates with the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in each programme.

The Meghalaya AIDS Control Society (MACS), in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Red Ribbon Club (RRC), National Service Scheme (NSS) and Alumni Association of Don Bosco College, Tura, organised a two-day ‘Out of School Awareness Programme’ on the theme of Drugs and Alcohol Abuse, HIV-AIDS Awareness, Teenage Pregnancy and Career Guidance on August 22 and 23,2022. The programme was held at St. James U.P. School, A.Kimdora (Sampalgre) and Mother Angeles Secondary School, Jangga. Dr Ivonne M Sangma, West Garo Hills MCH Officer and Mr John Marak, Principal, Mother Angeles Secondary School, Jangga, led the sessions.

The Don Bosco School Excellence Mission (DBSEM) organized a one-day programme at Don Bosco School, Panbazar, Guwahati, for students across Don Bosco schools of the Province of Guwahati to commemorate the centenary of the arrival of the Salesians to Northeast India. Students from 23 schools numbering 125 across Assam and Meghalaya States participated in six events.
