The most awaited 8th International Short Film Festival of India (ISFFI) hit the screen on 28th March and run through 29th March unrolling a vibrant selection of 54 short films across the globe. The inaugural function of the two-day festival commenced with a welcome note followed by lighting of Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries at Abirami Mega Mall, Shree Annai (Chinese Theme Theatre), Purusaiwakkam, Chennai under the patronage of DBICA and Abirami Theatres Pvt Ltd.

DBICA organized a Seminar on ``Children & Media`` at Salesian Institute of Graphic Arts (SIGA), Kilpauk on 22nd January 2014. The special chief guest cum young moderator of the seminar was `Ms. Ankitha Nambiar` who is an Anthropology Student from University of Madras.

It was an amazing display of talents in which 378 young people from 16 Don Bosco institutions in Chennai Province vied with each other to earn a place in the sun. The occasion was the Don Bosco Mega Talent Show, a first attempt by the Social Communication Department of the province to create a platform for talented youngsters, especially those from our rural settings, to showcase their skills and possibly capture the attention of mainstream media. The Short film fever left Chennai, as ISFFI 2013 came to a glorious close on the 10th of March, after the official declaration of jury awards. The presence of dignitaries from the media industry and the film makers from different parts of the world, made ISFFI more memorable. The 28 short films screened on the second day, evoked a boisterous response from the young people and the film makers present at the festival.

International Short Film Festival in Chennai ISFFI Season 7, took off on a very solemn note at Abirami theatre, Purusaiwakkam, Chennai on the 9th morning, with a great throng of young people flocking the premises to participate in the festival. The dignitaries who added grandeur and meaning to the festival were Mr. Abirami Ramanathan, Managing Director - Abirami Mega Mall, Prof. Dr. Gowri - Director, EMRC - Anna University, Filmmakers Prabhu Solomon, SS Stanley & Ram, and Rev. Harris Pakkam, Festival Director - ISFFI.
