Luiza Coelho, a woman of faith laid to rest
Mrs Luiza Nelia Coelho, doting mother of General Counsellor Formation, Father Ivo Coelho SDB, was laid to rest at her parish cemetery, Our Lady of Socorro Church, Socorro, Goa, in the presence of her family members, General Counsellor for South Asia, Father Biju Michael, Provincial of Salesian Province of Mumbai, Father Savio Silveira, Provincial of Salesian Province of Panjim Konkan, Father Clive Telles, Salesian representatives from the provinces of Mumbai and Panjim Konkan, Religious and friends on February 13, 2023.
Addressing the congregation, Father Coelho quoting the Book of Psalms, said, “my mother was a strong lady who looked after her family, and today our family is blessed because of her. I am grateful to her for supporting me in my vocation to become a Salesian”.
The Counsellor for South Asia, Father Michael, conveyed the condolences on behalf of the Rector Major Father Angel Fernandez Artime and assured the family that the whole Salesian family in Turin and Rome have been praying for the repose of the soul of Mrs Luiza Coelho and the bereaved family members. Reiterating the words of Father Coelho, Father Michael said Mrs Coelho was a strong woman, a woman of faith who encouraged, supported and nurtured religious vocation to Mother Church and the Salesian Congregation. He thanked her and her family for giving Father Coelho to the Salesian Congregation.
The family of Father Coelho thanked the Salesian family and friends for their support, prayers and wishes.
