The confreres of the Salesian Province of Panjim Konkan gathered to mark the triple celebrations of Provincial Community Day, jubilees and felicitation of the new Priests at Mount Don Bosco, Tuem, Goa on February 26.
The XVI Southern zonal conference of Association of Salesian Co-operators and Provincial Delegates from SDB and FMA of 6 Provinces of Goa-Panjim, Bangalore, Trichy, Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad participated in the conference hosted by the Province of Panjim at Pilar Fathers house, Panjim-Goa from January 13 to 14.
Father George Quadros of the Salesian Province of Panjim was felicitated by the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant S Mann, for his yeomen service in the field of Agriculture on January 19.
The novena in honour of Saint Francis Xavier at the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa, was celebrated with great devotion by members of the Salesian Family on the second day. Around 20 Salesian priests belonging to the Panjim Konkan Province gathered to concelebrate the Holy Eucharist with Vice Provincial of Salesian Panjim Konkan Province, Father Banzelao Teixeira, on November 26, at Bom Jesu Basilica, Old Goa.
Father George Quadros, Salesian of the Province of Panjim, was honoured with a Memento of Appreciation on World Elders Day in recognition of his sincere and dedicated service to the people of Goa in agriculture on October 1. The Government of Goa, Directorate of Social Welfare, in collaboration with All Goa Senior Citizen Federation and Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, through the Honourable Minister for Social Welfare, Government of Goa, Shri Subhash Phal Dessai and MLA Margao Constituency, Shri Digambar Kamat, honoured Father George Quadros.
The General Councillor, Formation, Father Ivo Coelho, visited the pre-novitiate of the Salesian Province of Panjim (INP) at Loutolim, Goa, with Vice Provincial of Panjim, Father Banzelao Teixeira and Vice Provincial Mumbai, Father Ashley Miranda on February 23, 2023.
Over 200 youngsters from 18 Salesian houses across the three states of Goa, Karnataka, and Maharashtra from the Salesian Province of Panjim, India, came together on February 19, 2023, at Don Bosco Animation Centre, Benaulim, to celebrate the annual Youth Day. ‘Arise-Go-Serve’, an inspiration from the Holy Father, Pope Francis, inviting youngsters to do the same was the theme for the celebration.
"The Salesian School of Communication (SSSC) is the first of its kind in the Church to be successfully conducted on a variety of topics, with great participation," said General Counsellor for Social Communication, Father Gildasio Mendes, on February 23, 2023 at the online concluding ceremony of SSSC.
Mrs Luiza Nelia Coelho, doting mother of General Counsellor Formation, Father Ivo Coelho SDB, was laid to rest at her parish cemetery, Our Lady of Socorro Church, Socorro, Goa, in the presence of her family members, General Counsellor for South Asia, Father Biju Michael, Provincial of Salesian Province of Mumbai, Father Savio Silveira, Provincial of Salesian Province of Panjim Konkan, Father Clive Telles, Salesian representatives from the provinces of Mumbai and Panjim Konkan, Religious and friends on February 13, 2023.
At a solemn thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration on the feast of the Nativity of Our Lady, Rector Major Father Angel Fernandez Artime, called on the Salesians to inculcate a passionate heart of a missionary. The Holy Mass was held at the Basilica of Bon Jesu in Old Goa on September 9, 2022.
