Don Bosco’s Dream is Our Dream; Fr Rolandi

- Francis Xavier

Extraordinary Visitor to the Province of Panjim, Father Gianni Rolandi, concluded the Visitation at Don Bosco Tuem on Sunday, September 10.

Addressing the parishioners of Saint Francis Xavier (SFX) Parish Tuem, he said, “Throughout his life, Don Bosco tried to live up to his dream which he had at the age of nine. In that dream, he was given a mission to work for poor and abandoned youngsters. But it is not just his dream; it is also our dream. Let us continue dreaming with him, not with our hearts and minds in the air, but with our feet on the ground, looking out for others and caring for the needs of those around us. The Salesians together with you, should strive towards making the dream true, day after day”. Father Rolandi later thanked the Salesians for the wonderful work in Tuem. The felicitation programme consisted of a Shadow Play on the life of Don Bosco by the boarders, a Pom-Pom dance by the catechism children and a Goan Folk Dance by the SFX parish youth.

In his concluding conference with the Salesians, Father Rolandi once again thanked the Salesians for their generous hospitality and for carrying out the mission of Don Bosco with great zeal. He extolled them to continue with the same spirit. He said, “Remember, we are all sons of Don Bosco. We are called to be Don Boscos’ to our beneficiaries with our gentle smile, helping hand and generous hearts. Above all, love the young and make them know that they are loved. Viva Don Bosco!”.

Father Rolandi also interacted with the people of Our Lady of the Rosary Church at Vaidongor. He thanked them for collaborating with the Salesians and praying for the mission. Later, he joined the adoration service with the Salesians and the boarders.
