D Vaibavi to Represent at Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate Championship
“I want to participate in Olympic Games and win the gold medal for the country,” says a 10-year-old karate kid, D Vaibavi. A student of Fatima Matriculation School, Kodambakkam, Vaibavi, is thrilled as she will represent at the 18th Okinawa Goju Ryu Karate Open International Championship 2022 at Ipoh City, Malaysia. The event will take place from May 27 to 29, 2022.
Vaibavi started her daring career at All India Goju Ryu Karate-Do Federation in 2018 under Moo Srinivasan, a Commonwealth Games Indian Team coach. Meanwhile, she has participated in many district, state and national level competitions and won several medals. She has won a gold medal at the State Level Open Karate Championship Tamil Nadu 2021. Vaibavi lives with her parents and younger brother.
