Eco-Fest Creates Environment Consciousness among Students

The Eco Club at Fatima School Kodambakkam, Chennai, organized an Eco-Fest to instil in the students an environmental consciousness and thus to take responsibility for protecting the environment from further destruction.

The students from middle school gave an engaging, exciting and memorable presentation on the title ‘Five Elements of the Earth’ to improve the ecological footprint on this beautiful planet. Students dressed like factors of the ecosystem demonstrated that the environment is a positive and fun place to live.

The classrooms had innovative carvings and paintings exhibited. There were vegetable and fruit carvings explaining ways to avoid plastics for ornamental things and proceed with biodegradable materials. Also, collages, canvas paintings, craftworks made with waste materials, bottle paintings and Rangoli with cereals and pulses were a treat to the eyes.

The chief guest G. Palani, President of Rotary Club, Galaxy, Chennai, interacted with the students to motivate the society to engage with the environment and take everyday action to effect change and make a difference. The chief guest with Sr. Amala Sebastian, Principal, Sr. Shamila and Sr. Elizabeth, who graced the occasion, lit an eco-friendly lamp.
