We have to nurture this youth centre the newly born baby.`` ``Salesian work started with the youth centre. Schools and colleges were the fruits of the youth centre. But unfortunately today institutions hog the limelight and the youth centres have become an appendix in the Sunday afternoon. Make sure youth centre remains active and fully committed to the formation of young,`` he told the Salesians. He congratulated the Rector of the community and the Salesians, for the yeomen service they are doing in Bangladesh and in particular for making Don Bosco Youth Centre a reality. Youth of the parish along with the pre-novices and aspirants organized a colourful cultural programme. The scintillating performance of the youngsters left everyone mesmerized. On his arrival Fr. Basañes met the confreres, pre-novices and aspirants and also visited a few mission stations. ``This is my maiden visit to Asia and I am happy to have started it with Bangladesh.`` Quoting the fellow Argentinean pope and the GC 27 which emphasized on going to the periphery, he said, ``Bangladesh is truly a periphery and hence my visit is all the more significant.``
