Skill Training Graduation Day for Sri Lankan Refugees

The fourth batch of Sri Lankan Refugee Skill training has been completed and the Graduation Day was organized on 6 July 2014 at Don Bosco, Thanjaur. About 769 Sri Lankan Tamil refugee beneficiaries (both skill training and women welfare club beneficiaries) and 40 Priests and Staff members participated. Fr. Albert Johnson, sdb. the Provincial of Don Bosco Trichy province presided over the function.
The function began with a prayer song by the Skill Training students of Keela Eral and followed by a welcome dance by the Skill Training students of Coimbatore.
Fr. Camillus sdb., Rector, Don Bosco, Thanjavur welcomed the participants. Fr. Santhanaraj, sdb., Economer, described the SLR programme. Fr. Ricopar, sdb., Director, CAUVERI DO presented a video report on the programme`s achievements.
Many cultural programmes were organized by the various camp members. Course completion certificates and trade-related tools were distributed to the successfully completed trainees.
Fr. Albert Johnson gave his presidential speech. Fr. Patrick sdb., Director, Don Bosco Vazhikatti thanked the donors, the participants and the organizers. The event concluded with a lunch.
