The Visitors` Kit with necessary information about Don Bosco`s Educative System, Institute prospectus and student hand book were distributed to ensure right exchange of information and documentation. After a short video presentation on the profile of SIGA, the participants were permitted to interact with the students in the hands-on-training /production departments of design, printing and binding. While Mr. Gian Sandhya, lecturer of department of curriculum studies, Mauritius Institute of Education commented on the practice of the safety measures for students that needs improvement, others were happy to have visited such an institution with 60 years of training experience. Mr.Gian was much concerned about the health of students and staff in the long run, if adequate system of safety like wearing gloves, ear plugs are not made mandatory. ``I like your non formal education system,`` said Mrs. Nargiza Hudaynazarova, a participant from Uzbekisthan. She was glad to see that students were allowed to make choices in the training process. She happily acknowledged that apart from training for skills, imparting religious knowledge is very important to every person which ever religion they might profess. Other participants who interacted were from Tanzania, Sudan, Laos, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Uzbekisthan, Ghana, Mauritius and Namibia. This is the third consecutive year, that Dr.S.Dhanapal, Professor and Head of Curriculum Development Centre, NITTTR is organizing such a visit to SIGA. In his opinion, SIGA is a leading vocational training institute and a visit and interaction with faculty will benefit the participants. The Vice Principal Fr. Mani Lazar presented about Don Bosco`s Educative System, Mr.Fredrick, Manager of SIGA-CIICP explained about the short-term skilled-based courses and a government staff spoke up why he joined the faculty of SIGA and continue to teach even after his retirement.
