Don Bosco School Leaders Focus on Future-Ready Education

The annual Headmasters’ and Principals’ Meet 2026 at the Don Bosco Provincial House (DBPH), Dimapur, Nagaland, on August 28 and 29 brought together heads of Don Bosco schools from across the region to chart a future-ready roadmap for Salesian education.
Held under the theme “Strengthening Don Bosco Schools for the Future,” the two-day gathering focused on strengthening administrative systems, responding to emerging educational policies, ensuring compliance with safety and governance standards, and harnessing digital technology for more effective school management. These themes framed the sessions across both days.
The meeting was attended by school headteachers and principals, as well as key resource persons and representatives from Tata ClassEdge.
In his keynote address, the Provincial called upon school leaders to work towards a shared vision, exchange best practices and strengthen collaboration to build a better future for students.
The first day focused largely on administrative and institutional frameworks, with sessions centred on systems that support day-to-day school management. Participants attended technical sessions on developing equitable salary structures and standardising salary slips. Workshops also covered teacher appraisal systems, maintenance of mandatory registers and the use of Microsoft Excel to improve routine administrative processes. An open forum provided an opportunity for school leaders to discuss regional concerns, challenges and successful institutional practices.
The second day focused on classroom innovation and regulatory requirements, linking policy awareness with school practice. Experts briefed participants on emerging educational trends and policy developments. At the same time, detailed sessions addressed key safety and governance measures, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH), the functioning of Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs), emergency protocols, and standard operating procedures.
Technology featured prominently during the afternoon sessions, reinforcing the meet’s focus on future-ready education. Tata ClassEdge presented digital learning solutions, animations and emerging classroom trends aimed at student engagement.
The gathering also witnessed the introduction of the new Province ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software, a unified digital platform intended to streamline administrative and operational processes across Don Bosco schools, further supporting the meet’s emphasis on effective school management.
Reflecting the Salesian emphasis on holistic education, the meeting further introduced an Integral Ecology Plan, including a dedicated ecology textbook for schools and youth ministry initiatives under DBYES, extending the future-focused discussions to environmental formation.
