St. Xavier’s Win Four Medals at Indo-Nepal Karate Championship

St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat, added another milestone to its sporting achievements as two of its students, Ms Jina Debbarma and Master James Jamatia, excelled at the prestigious President Cup 12th Indo-Nepal Karate Championship 2026 held at Mechinagar-6, Kakarvitta, Jhapa, Nepal, from August 22 to 23, winning four medals in all.
 
Organised by the Nepal Shito Ryu Karate School, the international championship brought together karatekas from different places to compete in various events.
 
Jina Debbarma delivered an impressive performance, securing the gold medal in the Kata event. She continued her winning run in the Kumite event in the under-32 kg category, claiming the silver medal. Master James Jamatia also put up a commendable performance, winning the bronze medal in Kata. In the Kumite event in the 64 kg category, he secured a silver medal and a certificate.
 
The school expressed appreciation to Karate Master Mr Indison Debbarma for his dedicated training, guidance and tireless efforts in preparing the students for the international championship. His coaching, encouragement and commitment were instrumental in shaping the success of the young champions.
