Homelink National Training Strengthens Data-Driven Leadership and Digital Innovation

News written by: Fr. Joe Prabu SDB

The three-day Homelink National Training Programme on “Sustainable Digital Innovation for Data-Driven Organizational Transformation” was organized by DB YaR Forum from January 19 to 21, bringing together Homelink Hub Directors, Hub Coordinators, and YaR Forum Delegates from across the country. The programme provided a national platform to reflect on how digital systems can enhance planning, accountability, and child-centred services across the Homelink Network.

The training opened with a strong emphasis on cultivating a data-driven mindset. Participants were encouraged to move beyond the basic use of digital tools and instead view data as a strategic resource for informed decision-making and organizational growth. Sessions offered in-depth orientation to Homelink DIGI modules related to staff, projects, services, and events, highlighting the role of accurate documentation in strengthening reporting, statutory compliance, and advocacy. Demonstrations of Power BI dashboards illustrated how raw data can be transformed into meaningful insights to support planning, monitoring, and evaluation.

The second day adopted highly participatory methodologies, including World Café, Open Space Technology, and Technology of Participation. These processes enabled collective reflection on organizational strengths, emerging challenges, and shared priorities across provinces. Through dialogue and group engagement, participants identified concrete action points at the YaR Centre, Provincial, and National levels, reinforcing a sense of shared ownership and collaborative leadership within the Homelink Network.

On the third day, the focus shifted to bridging the gap between planning and execution. Sessions underlined the importance of realistic operational plans supported by clearly defined roles, timelines, and monitoring mechanisms. Participants also explored avenues for mobilizing local resources through government schemes and corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnerships, supported by credible data systems and strong documentation practices.

Key outcomes of the programme included enhanced leadership capacity in data-informed decision-making, the formulation of strategic province-level action plans, increased awareness of data protection and ethical responsibility, and a renewed commitment to accountability and coordinated action.
