Winter Camp 2026 at DBTS Shillong Concludes with Certification Programme

The Winter Camp 2026 at Don Bosco Technical School (DBTS), Shillong, concluded on January 20 with a meaningful Certification Programme, marking the successful completion of an intensive period of technical training and holistic formation for the trainees.
The concluding programme began with a prayer and Bible reading led by Brother Donbok, setting a reflective tone for the occasion. Fr. Shiningstar Dkhar, Principal of DBTS, delivered the welcome address, commending the trainees for their discipline, commitment, and enthusiasm throughout the camp. He expressed appreciation for their willingness to learn and grow, and encouraged them to carry forward the values imbibed during the programme. A melodious song presented by the brothers added joy and warmth to the gathering.
The highlight of the ceremony was the inspiring message delivered by Fr. Saji Stephen, Rector of the DBTS Community. In his address, he urged the trainees to remain focused, value-driven, and responsible as they move forward in their lives and careers. Emphasizing the importance of character alongside competence, he encouraged them to use their skills for personal advancement and the betterment of society.
The programme concluded with the distribution of Certificates of Completion to the trainees, formally marking the end of Winter Camp 2026.
During the camp, participants received hands-on technical and vocational training in their respective trades, complemented by a comprehensive programme of holistic formation. Evening sessions addressed key themes, including livelihood skills, career guidance, current social issues, healthcare awareness, responsible use of social media, and future planning. Equal importance was given to spiritual growth, value education, recreation, and fellowship, fostering a joyful and supportive learning environment.
