DB Nashik Hosts Playdate and Support Meet for Neurodivergent Children
Don Bosco Nashik came alive with joy and laughter as families of neurodivergent children gathered for the second edition of the WTL Funtoosh Playdate and Support Meeting. Organized by Wading Through Life – Holistic Wellness (WTL), the event followed the successful launch of its first support group in July at Don Bosco Academy, Nerul, and its expansion to Don Bosco Matunga.
The programme, coordinated by WTL founder Ms. Wenonah Castellino and Nashik coordinator Ms. Smita Fernandez, opened with a prayer and an action song performed by children and parents. A lively talent showcase of songs and dances followed, with the energy peaking during a biscuit race that filled the hall with laughter.
A tea break, sponsored by Franklin Templeton, created space for families to connect. Employees from the company joined the celebrations, engaging in games and activities as part of their corporate outreach. Craft corners, run by teachers Chetna and Heena along with parish youth, offered hands-on fun while supporting the children’s motor skill development.
The Support Group provides families of children with special needs a much-needed space for sharing, learning, and belonging. The playdate transformed an ordinary day into one of creativity, inclusion, and resilience.
The Nashik Support Group is led by Fr. Royal D’Abreo, Parish Priest of Don Bosco Parish – Nashik; Fr. Gonsalves Wyman, Rector of the Novitiate Salesian Training Institute (STI) Nashik; Fr. Leon Rodrigues, Youth Animator; and Fr. Johnson Bhuriya, Administrator of Don Bosco Bhavan, Nashik.
