Don Bosco Teachers in Tripura Trained on Career Guidance
A two-day Teachers’ Training on Career Guidance for Don Bosco Schools of Tripura was held on August 29–30, at St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Pathaliaghat. The programme, coordinated by Fr. Babu Stephen SDB, Principal of St. Xavier’s Hr. Sec. School brought together 80 teachers from eight Don Bosco Schools across the state.
The training featured eminent resource persons, including Fr. Gabriel Karunaraj SDB, National Director of the Don Bosco Job Placement Network in India; Fr. Joseph D’Souza Kamalesh SDB, Professor of English at Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur; and Mr. Sebi Chacko, Regional Coordinator of AIDA–Don Bosco Job Placement Network, Dimapur.
The programme opened with a brief welcome ceremony where students, along with Fr. Babu, greeted the guests with badges, Risa, and floral bouquets. Over the two days, the sessions focused on the concept and significance of career guidance, higher education pathways, employment opportunities, university systems, and challenges in the present job market.
Teachers engaged in interactive discussions, case studies, and group activities, supported by systematic handouts and multimedia presentations. Participants highlighted the resource persons’ ability to combine theory with real-life experiences, making the training practical and relevant to the Tripura context.
Speaking on behalf of the teachers, Ms. Priyanka Debbarma expressed gratitude for the enriching sessions. Fr. Babu Stephen, representing the Salesian Province of Shillong and Don Bosco Schools of Tripura, extended heartfelt thanks to the facilitators and participants for ensuring the programme’s success.
