Students build house for mother and son
As part of their social responsibility and commitment, the students of Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu, built a house for mother and son. Dr. RN Ansar, the Kerala State National Service Scheme (NSS) officer, handed over the key to the newly constructed building.
‘Sneha Veedu,’ a project initiated by the college and executed by the NSS members of the college, has so far built five houses for deserving families in the locality. The house of 750 Sq. ft. with three bedrooms, a hall, kitchen, work area and sit-out cost eight lakh rupees. The money for the construction came in from the students and public through various fund-raising programmes.
“NSS aims to inculcate social awareness among students. ‘Sneha Veedu’ project is an eye-opener for the students to act realistically for the welfare of the needy,” said E Jisha, the NSS Programme Officer at Don Bosco College.
