SIGA Chennai Aiming for WorldSkills 2021

The Salesian Institute of Graphic Arts [SIGA] Chennai, hosted and participated in the District-cum-State Level competitions of the India Skills 2020, on 27 January 2020, as a lead up to the WorldSkills 2021. Out of 44 Print Media Technology participants from various districts in Tamil Nadu, Elakiya Sree and Ponmareeswarn qualified for the next level competitions. SIGA HoD Fredrick, and Lecturer Peter Nirmalraj, were part of the jury.
IndiaSkills an initiative of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has been spearheading India`s participation at WorldSkills International since 2011. In a run up to the IndiaSkills 2020, the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation organised the District-cum-State Level competitions for participants of Print Media Technology to contest their skill in all aspects of the printing process, from initial planning and preparation through the print run; checking for consistent quality to cleaning up after the print run is complete.
