Don Bosco Youth Centre Hosts IndiGo Cabin Crew Drive, Five Selected
News reported by: Michael Makri (INS)
In a significant boost to youth employment in the North East, IndiGo, India’s largest airline, conducted a walk-in campus interview for Cabin Crew positions at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. The recruitment drive was organised in collaboration with Emporium Skills Training Institute (ESTI).
A total of 56 female candidates from across the region participated in the selection process. Following a rigorous assessment, five candidates were selected.
This marks the second time the Don Bosco Youth Centre has hosted a direct Cabin Crew recruitment drive in partnership with ESTI, reflecting growing industry confidence in the Centre’s training ecosystem. The initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in September 2025, aimed at providing employment-linked professional training and placement opportunities in aviation, hospitality, and international cruise services for educated unemployed youth in Meghalaya and the wider North East.
Fr Michael Makri, Director of the Centre, stated that this was the fourth campus interview conducted under the MoU, with several more recruitment drives scheduled in the coming months involving both national and international companies.
The Don Bosco Youth Centre in Shillong has steadily emerged as a key hub for youth empowerment and skill development in the region. Through its training programmes and industry partnerships, the Centre has facilitated placements for numerous young people, enabling them to secure meaningful employment both in India and abroad.
Under the ongoing collaboration, ESTI will continue to provide specialised training at the Centre, equipping candidates with industry-relevant skills and offering access to employment opportunities in over 20 countries.
