Don Bosco School Champions Green Cause with ‘Vanam Manam’ Drive
In a meaningful step towards environmental protection and sustainable living, Don Bosco School CBSE, Gunadala, Vijayawada, hosted the Vanam Manam program on July 14, drawing enthusiastic participation from students, parents, teachers, and staff. The initiative aimed to foster environmental consciousness and promote a greener, pollution-free environment.
Held within the school campus, the event was marked by the planting of saplings, community involvement, and a collective pledge to care for the planet. The Vanam Manam initiative is part of the school’s broader mission to instill ecological responsibility in young minds, especially at a time when the world faces the growing challenges of global warming and environmental degradation.
Speaking at the event, Principal Fr. Bhaskar highlighted the importance of afforestation and environmental stewardship. “Every sapling planted is a promise for a healthier planet and a better future,” he said, urging each student to plant at least one tree every year.
Parents were invited as guests of honour, symbolizing the spirit of shared responsibility. Their active participation alongside their children in planting a variety of saplings added emotional depth and community warmth to the green campaign.
The school grounds came alive with energy and purpose as students, under the guidance of teachers and parents, engaged in the tree-planting activity. The hands-on experience not only connected them with nature but also reinforced the message that small, consistent actions can bring about significant environmental change.
