Students Engage in Deep Spiritual Reflection
Don Bosco College Byndihati concluded a spiritually enriching two-day retreat held on 22 and 23 March. The retreat provided an opportunity for reflection and renewal. Over 300 Catholic students participated in the retreat, fostering personal growth and spiritual development. They demonstrated a strong commitment to their faith and a desire for deeper spiritual connection.
The retreat commenced on 22 March with a solemn Mass celebrated by the Most Rev. Ferdinand Dkhar, Bishop of Jowai. In his homily, the Bishop drew inspiration from the day's gospel, focusing on the parable of the Prodigal Son. He urged the young participants to reflect on their lives, encouraging them to learn from the Prodigal Son's journey of repentance and return. The Bishop emphasized the importance of being ever-ready for conversion and renewal, highlighting the transformative power of forgiveness and reconciliation and speaking to the large gathering of young people.
Mr. Kupar Shadap and Mr. Khrawborlang spiritually animated the retreat, leading sessions designed to facilitate introspection and spiritual growth. Their dynamic presentations and thoughtful guidance created a conducive atmosphere for reflection. The first day also provided students with the opportunity for confession, allowing them to seek spiritual guidance and reconciliation. This part of the retreat was very well attended.
The second day of the retreat continued with sessions and concluded with a Mass celebrated by Fr. Shiningstar Dkhar. In his homily, Fr. Dkhar drew parallels with the biblical story of Moses and the burning bush. He invited the participants to symbolically "remove the sandals of impurities," encouraging them to shed any burden or negative influence that hindered their spiritual journey. This metaphor resonated deeply with the students, inspiring them to strive for purity of heart and mind.
The two-day retreat at Don Bosco College Byndihati proved to be a significant event, offering a large number of students a valuable opportunity to step away from their daily routines and engage in deep spiritual reflection. The retreat's success was attributed to the insightful guidance of the Principal, the Management, and the animators, as well as the active and engaged participation of students.
