DEACON MARK ORDAINED MINISTER OF GOD

Champhai/Shillong: Today 5th December is a red letter day in the Diocese of Aizawl Mizoram and the province of St. John Paul II, Shillong as it get its new priest in the person of Deacon Mark Thanglamtluanga SDB from Champhai village. He was ordained priest today at 11am IST by his Lordship Rt Rev Bishop Stephen Rotluanga, the Bishop of Aizawl Diocese in the presence of Father John Zosiama the Vice Provincial of Salesian Shillong Province together with few selected Salesian Priests from Mizoram region, other priests, religious, Deacon Mark`s parents and siblings and faithful following strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols from the government of Mizoram.
Father Mark was born on 24th April 1987 in Champhai village. He entered the Salesian aspirantate, did his novitiate in 2019 and made his profession on 24 May 2010. After his profession he did his Philosophy and other studies. He did his theological studies at Sacred Heart Theological College Mawlai from 2017-2020. He was ordained deacon on 1 July 2020 by Bishop Victor Lyngdoh of Jowai Diocese and today the 5th December 2020 is ordained a priest. He is the 7th Mizo Salesian priest.
