The number of children in a majority of the schools in Harpanahalli taluk in Davangere district has dwindled significantly as students are being employed by the seed production centres that are mushrooming there. According to a survey conducted by Don Bosco Child labour Mission Davangere, more than 3000 children are engaged in seed production units in Harpanahalli taluk alone.
