Don Bosco Child Labour Mission, Davangere received Don Bosco joyfully on 1 September, 2011. After receiving the casket in a public procession, a brief but meaningful prayer service, adapted to the context of the young at risk, was held before opportunity for veneration was given to all. The second part of the programme was a public function attended by ecclesiastical as well as civil authorities. The speakers expressed their appreciation and admiration for Don Bosco, the person and the institution. Don Bosco Child Labour Mission has been involved with child labour rehabilitation for the past many years and has reached out to thousands of youth through rehabilitation and training activities. The right based approach has made this project relevant and meaningful to the three taluks of the District with a strong presence and clear perspective. The past pupils who came in large numbers were not only happy to come back to their `home` but also venerate the person and the power that has now shown them life and livelihood.
