With profound grief, we, the Salesians of the Province of Bangalore, announce the passing away of Rev.Fr.Chakkramakil Jose (68), the Rector of Don Bosco Cultural Centre, Vennala, Kochi, on 2nd August 2011. He was having heart related complications since quite many years and apparently he was found lying dead in his room yesterday evening. Fr. Jose was born in Thrissur on 11th December 1943. He made his first profession at the Retreat, Yercuad on 24th May 1963 and was ordained a priest on 22nd December 1973. Fr. Jose was known for his joviality, cheerfulness and simplicity. Above all he was a man of great pastoral zeal, a typical Salesian characteristic. He served the Yemen Mission for nearly 12 years. His mortal remains will be laid to rest at Don Bosco Bhavan, Mannuthy, at 10.30 a.m., on Thursday, 4th August 2011. May his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace!
