INM DB Tech initiates MoRD Project

A meeting was convened on 22nd April 2010 at Provincial House, Citadel to chalk out the action plan of INM DB Tech project for 2010 as well as to finalize the MoRD project implementation at our province level. Members from 15 institutions were present for the meeting. The session started with a short prayer followed by the welcome address by Fr.Jeffrey Sdb in which he welcomed as well as appreciated the heads of the Technical institutions for their collaboration in implementing DB Tech project.
Rev.Fr.Jeffrey sdb shared with the participants the activity plan as well as the financial plan of DB Tech Project for the year 2010. In consultation with the member partners, a schedule of activities as per the project demands for the current year was finalized.
The second part of the meeting was dedicated to the explanation of MoRD project by Rev.Fr.A.M.Jose Sdb, the Director of DB Tech Skilling India. Through power point presentation, he briefly explained the various components of MoRD Project such as the Project background, Partners, Objective of the MoRD project, Target group, Methodology, Roles and Responsibilities of Partners, Management Information System, Monitoring and Evaluation, Finance, Skill focus on NSDC, MoF demand Study of NSDC, Project Staff Recruitment and TOT, Project Infrastructure, Trainees Profile, Assessment and Certification etc. Participants clarified their doubts on assessment and certification of the courses, management information system, staff recruitment procedures, youth survey etc.
With the consultation of the members, six technical centres situated at Sagayathottam, Tiruvannamalai, Thalavadi, Madurantagam, Polur and Tirupattur were chosen for the immediate implementation of this project in June 2010. The recruited youth will be given training in trades such as Driving, Automobiles, Construction, Carpentry, Retail, Welding, Hospitality, Tailoring, Computer Hardware, Electrical, Nursing along with compulsory imparting of Soft skills and Communication skills. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks and the assurance of full support and cooperation from all the members in taking forward the MoRD Project at our province level.
