Jnanodaya Institute Opens Academic Year with Call for ‘Cathedral Thinking’ and Philosophical Excellence
The Jnanodaya Salesian Institute of Philosophy, The Retreat, Yercaud, formally inaugurated its new academic year on June 6, 2026. The institute welcomed 38 students from five Salesian Provinces in India and the Diocese of Den Bosch in the Netherlands. The students begin a year of intellectual formation and philosophical inquiry.

The Salesian Province of Calcutta (INC), after its centenary in February, has launched a province-wide visitation to define its mission and chart a clear course for the next century. The visitation began on June 5, the ordination anniversary of St. John Bosco, led by Fr. Biju Michael, Regional Superior for South Asia and the Rector Major's delegate.
Youth Offer Prayer and Plants for Creation at Don Bosco Matunga on World Environment Day
To celebrate World Environment Day on June 5, 2026, Don Bosco Youth Services Mumbai hosted a special Eucharistic Adoration on the terrace of the Shrine Office at Don Bosco Matunga, uniting young people and the Provincial House Community for a reflection centred on care for creation. Ten youth and Salesian fathers attended. Each participant brought a plant, symbolising environmental commitment as part of the event’s activities.
