‘Sundays in Valdocco’ Brings Together 80 Young People at Alirajpur

More than 80 young people from Kawant, Chhota Udepur, Dakor, Kapadvanj, Vadodara and Banswada, Rajasthan, gathered at Don Bosco, Alirajpur, on September 20 for ‘Sundays in Valdocco’, a one-day youth gathering organised by the young people of Don Bosco Alirajpur. The programme aimed to help participants experience the Salesian spirit through prayer, reflection, fellowship and joyful participation.

Following registration and Eucharistic Adoration, the gathering moved into personal reflection sessions led by Anubhav from Alirajpur and Lata from Banswada. Speaking on the theme of indifference, they shared personal experiences and reflected on how indifference can influence relationships with others and the wider environment.

Fr Leon then introduced the participants to the significance of ‘Sundays in Valdocco’, highlighting Valdocco's spirit and its relevance to young people today. After this introduction, the programme continued with Holy Mass, followed by lunch and fellowship.

In the afternoon, the session featured action songs and group discussions facilitated by Fr Cletus. The activities encouraged participants to interact, express their views and reflect together. Fr Cyril then led games that promoted teamwork, participation and community building.

Another highlight of the gathering was a live performance by Salt and Light, a band from Indore that travelled to Alirajpur for the occasion. The band, which has also appeared on Atmadarshan TV, added music and youthful energy to the celebration.

The event was attended by Fr Anton, Province Economer, representing the Provincial, along with Br Royston and Fr Leon. It concluded with a vote of thanks and the distribution of gifts to the game winners.
