Don Bosco College Byndihati Honours 84 Graduates on Graduation Day

Don Bosco College, Byndihati, held its Graduation Day on August 21, honouring more than 84 graduating students. The ceremony was attended by graduates, parents, dignitaries, priests and religious, educators, and students from neighbouring schools.
The ceremony began with the National Anthem and the traditional lighting of the lamp. Principal Fr (Dr) Daniel Dabitlang M. Cajee welcomed the gathering and declared the Graduation Day celebrations open.
Shri James P.K. Sangma, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), was the chief guest and delivered the presidential address. He congratulated the graduates, urged them to stay committed to their aspirations, and meet future challenges with determination. He stressed that sustained hard work is fundamental to long-term success and encouraged them to remain resilient as they pursue their dreams. He later presented the degree certificates.
The academic celebration featured students' cultural performances, including a prayer dance and traditional folk dances. The programme concluded with a choral performance by the Don Bosco College Choir.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished Guests of Honour, including Prof. Ghanashyam Bez, Director of the College Development Council, North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU); Shri Manish Kumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills District; and Shri Shailendra Bamaniya, IPS, Superintendent of Police, East Jaintia Hills District.
Fr Jeevan Kishore Lakra, Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Shillong, along with priests and religious from neighbouring Salesian and other communities, was also present.
