Don Bosco College Kohima Honours 375 Graduates at Ninth Convocation

Don Bosco College, Kohima, held its 9th Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2023–26 at the college auditorium on July 24, honouring 375 graduating students.
The graduating batch comprised students from nine departments. Political Science accounted for the largest number of graduates at 147, followed by Psychology and Sociology with 49 each, History (42), English (41), Education (27), Commerce (12), Zoology (8), and Botany (2).
The ceremony also recognised academic excellence. Twelve students received special awards for securing top positions in Nagaland University's Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) examinations.
Addressing the gathering as the special invitee, Prof. Jano S. Liegise, Dean of the School of Humanities and Education, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema, praised the longstanding contribution of Catholic educational institutions in strengthening education in Nagaland and across India.
Congratulating the graduates, she encouraged them to prepare confidently for competitive examinations such as the UPSC and NPSC. She reminded them that success requires focus, discipline, and thoughtful decision-making as they embark on the next phase of their academic and professional lives.
In his address, Fr. Dr Tious Varghese, Principal of Don Bosco College, described graduation as a milestone that celebrates perseverance, dedication, and new opportunities. He said the occasion recognised not only academic accomplishments but also the personal growth of students who had developed in knowledge, character, and values during their years at the institution.
Representing parents, Abuno Meyase, President of the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA), congratulated the graduates. He described the ceremony as a celebration of resilience, discipline, personal growth, and the courage to pursue one's aspirations.
The ceremony concluded with the conferral of degrees and awards, marking the successful completion of the students' undergraduate journey and their transition to higher studies, professional careers, and public service.
