New Delhi Province Honours Four Newly Ordained Salesian Priests
The Salesian Province of New Delhi (INN) celebrated New Priests' Day on July 16 with a thanksgiving Eucharist and felicitation programme honouring four newly ordained Salesian priests: Fr Prakash Mallick, Fr Elias Majhi, Fr Abhay Kiran Minj and Fr Robin Thomas.
The celebration brought together confreres of the province to thank God for the gift of new priestly vocations and to reaffirm their commitment to the Salesian mission of serving young people, especially the poor and the marginalised.
The Holy Eucharist was presided over by Fr Abhay Kiran Minj. Delivering the homily, Fr Prakash Mallick reflected on the beauty and responsibility of the priestly vocation, urging the newly ordained priests to remain firmly rooted in Christ, faithful to their Salesian calling, and dedicated to serving the young with zeal, humility and pastoral charity.
Addressing the gathering, the Provincial congratulated the four priests and reminded them that the priesthood is a lifelong vocation to serve Christ and His people with generosity, fidelity and the spirit of St John Bosco. He also expressed gratitude to God for blessing the province with new vocations.
During the felicitation programme, the newly ordained priests were presented with bouquets and commemorative gifts as a mark of the province's appreciation. In a reflective segment of the programme, each priest shared his ordination motto, explaining the Scripture passage and spiritual inspiration that would guide his priestly ministry.
Fr Elias Majhi proposed the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all who contributed to the successful organisation of the celebration.
