HYDERABAD, July 12:
Salesian Brothers’ Annual Meet Strengthens Vocations, Plans National Congress
News reported by: Fr. Blasius Tete sdb, IND
The Annual Meet of Salesian Brothers (Delegates) 2026 brought together delegates from across India for two days of reflection and planning, strengthening vocational commitment and preparing for the 10th Salesian Brothers’ Congress.
Held from July 11 to 12 at the Don Bosco Philosophate in Karunapuram and the Don Bosco Provincial House (DBPH) in Hyderabad, the gathering brought together 10 provincial delegates along with 13 Salesian Brothers currently pursuing philosophy and degree studies at Karunapuram.
The programme featured interactive sessions aimed at spiritual renewal, fraternity, and collaboration among the provinces. Activities included the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, a friendly "Brothers v/s Clerics" sports match, the presentation of the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA) report, and an information session on academic opportunities offered by Don Bosco Renewal Centre (DBRC), Bengaluru.
The meeting focused on the key priorities of vocational identity and national coordination among Salesian Brothers. Beginning in the academic setting of Karunapuram and concluding at the provincial headquarters in Hyderabad, the programme provided an opportunity for young Brothers in formation to engage directly with provincial delegates and discuss future priorities for the congregation.
Participants also reviewed preparations for the forthcoming 10th Salesian Brothers’ Congress and aligned provincial initiatives with the broader vision of the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia.
Reflecting on the experience, Bro. Alexius Tuti of the Dimapur Province said, "Coming together from different provinces and sharing different ideas really enriches us. It also strengthens our vocation."
The annual gathering remains an important platform for unity and collaboration among Salesian Brothers across India, ensuring that provincial initiatives remain connected to the national mission of the SPCSA.
The delegates included Bro. Vincent Castilino (INH), Bro. James Markus (INP), Bro. Bosco Ekka (INS), Bro. Sagairaj (INT), Bro. Melvyn Christopher (INB), Bro. Paul Gopurathinkal (INK), Bro. Roshan Ekka (INC), Bro. Herman Lakhra (INN), Bro. Joby Mani (ING), and Bro. Alexius Tuti (IND).
The meeting concluded with a cultural visit to the historic Charminar, providing an opportunity for fraternity and cultural appreciation before the delegates returned to their respective provinces.
