The Sunday Catechism Children’s Meet 2026 was held on May 3 at Christ the King Church, Hesag, Don Bosco Hatia, Ranchi, bringing together children, catechism teachers, and parish members from various parishes for a vibrant day of faith, fellowship, and cultural activities.

The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a prayer service and Bible reading. Fr. Pratap Ekka, SDB, welcomed the gathering and greeted the dignitaries present. Fr. Abhay Minj, SDB, was warmly welcomed, while Fr. Shilanand Kerketta, SDB, delivered an inspiring message encouraging the children on their faith journey.

The gathering was marked by a joyful atmosphere as catechism teachers led the children in action songs and party games. Fr. Arvind, SDB, addressed the participants on the theme, “Do Whatever He Tells You,” urging the children to live according to the teachings of Jesus in their daily lives.

A series of competitions and interactive activities added colour to the event. Children from different parishes participated in group singing competitions, action songs, Biblical tableaux, dance performances, and games. A Bible quiz conducted by Bariatu Parish under the guidance of Fr. Arvind and his team provided both excitement and learning for the participants.

A solemn Holy Eucharist, celebrated by Fr. Eldiphonse Kujur, SDB, formed the spiritual highlight of the day. The choir animated by Hesag Parish added to the prayerful atmosphere, fostering unity among the faithful gathered for the occasion.

Following lunch, the celebrations continued with interactive sessions and competitions organised by the parishes of Kokar, Bichna, Hesag, and Bariatu.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Fr. Deepak Bhengra, SDB, who expressed gratitude to all the organisers, participants, catechism teachers, and supporters for making the event meaningful and successful. Prizes were awarded to recognise the children's talents and enthusiastic participation.
