News reported by: Ms Lolita Mendonca and Mr Agnelo Rodrigues for BIS Mumbai
Don Bosco Avsar, Matunga, Mumbai, organized two career-oriented seminars at St. Joseph’s School Hall, Wadala (W), as part of its ongoing “Classroom to Careers” February series, aimed at preparing young people for the evolving demands of the professional world. The sessions attracted strong participation from undergraduate college students, as well as several working youth and parish members.
The first seminar, titled Cyber Security Awareness & Career Opportunities, was conducted by Mr. Amrish Vora, industry expert and CEO of Clear Intentions IT Solutions. Addressing the gathering, Vora underscored the rapid pace of digitalization and the corresponding surge in cyber threats, which has created an unprecedented demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals.
He introduced participants to a wide spectrum of career pathways, including Ethical Hacker, Cyber Security Analyst, Cloud Security Specialist, Digital Forensics Expert, Security Architect, and Compliance and Risk Manager. Highlighting current employment trends, he noted a significant increase in cybersecurity job postings across India in 2025, reflecting the sector’s robust growth trajectory.
Vora outlined academic routes in Computer Science and Information Technology, along with globally recognized certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and CompTIA Security+. He emphasized the importance of mastering technical competencies—networking, cryptography, cloud computing, and programming—while also cultivating soft skills such as analytical reasoning and effective communication. Stressing that cybersecurity today is not merely a niche profession but an essential life skill, he encouraged students to pursue hands-on training and continuous upskilling.
The afternoon session shifted focus to Financial Literacy for Youth and was led by Mrs. Loretta Silveria, Proprietor of Trinity Wealth Creators. In an interactive format, participants were invited to articulate their financial aspirations, after which Silveria provided a structured roadmap for achieving long-term financial stability.
“The secret of robust financial health is to inculcate financial discipline early in life… right from the first salary,” she remarked. She highlighted the need to differentiate between needs and wants, advocating consistent saving and early investment. Through practical illustrations, she demonstrated the power of compounding and explained how modest, regular investments can accumulate significantly over time. Participants were also introduced to foundational financial instruments, such as life insurance and mutual funds, as well as the importance of contingency planning.
The seminars concluded with quizzes and prize distribution, adding an engaging dimension to the programme. The day proved both informative and empowering, equipping youth with practical insights into cybersecurity and financial well-being—two critical pillars for sustainable careers and responsible adulthood.
