Friday, September 26, was a day filled with joy and thanksgiving at St. Therese of Child Jesus Parish, Kuwait, as the parish community came together to honour its Altar Servers for their dedicated and selfless service to the Church. The event, organized by the Salesian Cooperators – Kuwait Unit, brought together nearly 100 young servers, their coordinators, and parish clergy for a half-day of appreciation, fun, and fellowship under the theme “Anchored in Hope, Sailing with Christ.”

The celebration began with a warm welcome from Mr Raymond Rego, the Spiritual Coordinator, and Mr Gavril D’Silva, Assistant Coordinator of the Altar Servers. The presence of Salesian priests — Fr Savio D’Souza SDB, the Parish Priest and Spiritual Director of the Salesian Cooperators; Fr Derrick Misquitta SDB; and Fr James Tuscano SDB — added spiritual depth and significance to the occasion.

The program featured a series of engaging and motivational activities organized by the Salesian Cooperators to keep the boys energized and involved throughout the day. A highlight was the inspiring address by Fr. Joe Fernandes SDB, Spiritual Director of the Altar Servers, who encouraged the boys to continue serving the Church with faith, discipline, and joy.

In recognition of their commitment, coordinators were presented with souvenirs as tokens of appreciation. At the same time, six Altar Servers — three seniors and three juniors — received certificates and gifts for their outstanding attendance and service at the parish.

Adding vibrancy to the celebration was the energetic Master of Ceremonies, Mr Russell Fernandes, a Salesian Cooperator aspirant, who kept the young participants entertained with games and interactive segments. His daughter, serving as the event’s DJ, added youthful cheer with lively music.

The celebration concluded with words of gratitude to all organizers, coordinators, and participants, followed by a final blessing imparted by Fr. Savio D’Souza, SDB. The day left the young Altar Servers inspired and appreciated — a joyful reminder that their service truly anchors them in hope and faith.
