The Department of Computer Science, St. Anthony's College, with the support of the State Council of Science, Technology & Environment (SCSTE) and NTPC, NEEPCO, hosted the International Seminar on Emerging Research Trends in Computer Science (iSERT-CS) from March 11 to 13.

Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 objectives, which emphasize the importance of internships, research, and industry exposure for students, the seminar was designed to provide a platform for participants to engage in meaningful dialogues and knowledge exchange. It featured distinguished international and national speakers from premier global organizations, academic institutions, and research centers, sharing insights on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, robotics, and geospatial analytics. The event also included a specialized cybersecurity tutorial by Dr. Arjun Chetry, NEPA's Assistant Director (IT). He addressed key digital threats such as identity theft, phishing, and ransomware. He demonstrated tools like "HaveIBeenPwned.com" for breach detection and Sensity AI for deepfake analysis while highlighting career prospects in cybersecurity.

Shri Biswajeet Mishra, Senior Software Engineer at Google Gemini, San Francisco, USA, discussed the evolution of Large Language Models (LLMs) from traditional N-grams to transformers, their applications in digital assistants and generative AI, and challenges such as bias and hallucinations. Dr. Rajiv Vaid Basaiawmoit, Head of Sci-Tech Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Aarhus University, Denmark, highlighted the power of crowdsourcing in problem-solving, gamification in research, and AI-driven innovation in healthcare and finance. Shri Krishna S. Chippalkatti, Joint Director at C-DAC Bengaluru, provided an overview of C-DAC's national missions, including Quantum Computing, AI, and Exascale Computing, and showcased India's supercomputing advancements, such as PARAM SIDDHI AI and the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM). Prof. Jugal Kalita, Chair Professor at the University of Colorado, USA, explored the transformation of education through LLMs, their training methodologies, and emerging capabilities in knowledge generation. Prof. Shyamanta M. Hazarika from IIT Guwahati discussed AI-driven robotic neurorehabilitation, which integrates robotics and neuroscience to aid individuals with neuromotor disabilities. Shri Subhash Puyam, Scientist-SF at NESAC-ISRO, highlighted the use of high-resolution satellite imagery and AI-driven geospatial analytics for disaster management, urban planning, and environmental conservation in Northeast India.
