Father Gildasio Santos Visits Don Bosco Cultural Centre, Kochi
Having concluded the official visit of the Salesian Formation Houses in Karnataka and Kerala of the Province of Bangalore, Father Gildasio Santos, the General Councillor for Social Communications from Rome, visited the Don Bosco Cultural Centre in Kochi on November 17 and 18.
The visit marked Father Santos's first trip to Kerala, and he expressed his admiration for the state's natural beauty and cultural richness. During his visit, he explored several facilities at the Don Bosco Cultural Centre, including the Don Bosco Music Academy and Fine Arts, which boasts over 450 students mastering various instruments, both Western and Indian classical, alongside dance and fine arts.
Father Santos also toured IGACT, the center's state-of-the-art digitalized printing press, the IMAGE Film and Production Institute, and the Graphic Design Department. Addressing students at the Film Institute, he encouraged them to embrace creativity in the digital age. "We need content creators. If you are not a creator, you only repeat others' ideas. Even in an age of AI, make sure you are the author," he emphasized, inspiring students to innovate and lead in the media field.
Father Santos departed for Bangalore on the afternoon of November 18, leaving a message of inspiration and a renewed focus on creativity and innovation for the Salesian community in Kochi.
