Nitika Don Bosco conducts LAF Programme
Salesian Province of Kolkata organized the fourth edition of the Leaders and Animators Formation (LAF) programme for the Central Zone Provinces of Kolkata, Delhi and Hyderabad from 8 to 10 September here at Nitika Don Bosco Catechetical and Media Centre, Kolkata. The LAF Programme had 90 participants, including ten priests, a Salesian sister and a Salesian brother.
The training began invoking the presence of the Lord by a meditation animated by the Province of Hyderabad. Father Joseph Pauria, Provincial of Kolkata, presided over the inaugural Eucharistic celebration, inviting the young animators and leaders to focus on the dimension of Salesian Spirituality, the Salesian presence.
LAF began the inaugural session with the garlanding of the Statue of Don Bosco by Father Provincial. Animators from the Provinces were welcomed with an Uttorio (Bengali welcome garland). The youth of Auxilium Parish Kolkata presented a prayer dance after lighting the lamp by the animators and youth representatives from each Province.
Father Joseph Pauria, in his inaugural message, highlighted the ‘Salesian Social Experience Dimension’. The first session by Father Patrick was on the Salesian Youth Movement. At intervals, the World Youth Day participants from each Province shared their experiences. The other sessions include Learning to Lead like Don Bosco by Father Sunil Kerketta, Youth and Media by Mr. Vikas Daga, Listening to the Voice of God by Father Bijoy Ghosh, Youth a Peace Builder by Father Joji Yeruva, Faith Formation by Father Kumuda Digal and Salesian Youth Spirituality by Father Deepak Kindo.
