The Province of Chennai celebrates Salesian Family Day

The tiny seed of the Salesian charism that erupted from little Johnny Bosco through the programmatic dream at nine has now grown into a big tree with many prolific branches and into a great movement called the Salesian family of Don Bosco. There are 32 officially recognized members in the Salesian Family, and another 30 are waiting for recognition. The Salesian Province of Chennai is privileged to have nine of them: SDB, FMA, SMA, SMI, VDB, CDB, ADMA, ASC and DB-PPA.

The annual Salesian Family Day of Chennai Province was celebrated on February 26, 2023, at the Provincial House, Citadel. It was distinguished by more than 100 members belonging to all nine groups and delegates from each branch. The day was graced by Very Rev. Fr. Joan Lluis Playa SDB, the world delegate of the Salesian Family. His presence and animation on Salesian Family Charter made the day enriching. An air of family spirit, a spirit of sharing and caring capped with enthusiasm for joint ventures in formation and mission that prevailed throughout the meeting opened vistas for the coming years. Our joy doubled with the presence of Ms Dagmar, VDB Major, responsible for the event. The presence of Father Don Bosco, Provincial, was a source of energy and motivation for all those gathered.
