DBICA organized a seminar on ``Children & Media`` at St. Bede`s School, Santhome on 25th November 2013. The chief guest cum moderator of the seminar was `Pon Kogilam` who is a RJ `Minnal FM` in Malaysia. she was twice awarded with the title - ``Best RJ of Malaysia``. The Program commenced with the welcome speech by Fr. Harris sdb director of DBICA, who insisted the importance of media in the life of children. 16 students representing from various Schools participated as speakers for the day. We had also participants numbering around 650 from 13 schools in Chennai. The children passionately delivered their speech with their insights on various topics like `Media in your life`, `Social Media - A boom or a curse`, `Cell phone and their effects on young people`, `Favorite TV programme and their appeal`, `Cinema - a fantasy or Reality`, `Media in your family`. The best performer award went to S. Lokesh VIII Std from Don Bosco, Perambur. The whole session was enthusiastically animated by the moderator Pon Kogilam so much so the children seated were spell bound all through the session. After the students` performances, the moderator consolidated the insights of the speakers saying that, ``Media was neutral and it became bad & good with the individual`s usage``. DBICA encouraged the speakers with certificates and mementos. The seminar came to an end with the national anthem around 2.30 pm.
