The second batch of `Don Bosco Plus` programme was inaugurated on August 17, 2009 at BREADS. Fr. Valarkote Mathew, the Rector of the Provincial House and the Province secretary inaugurated the Finishing School and motivated the young people to make the best of the opportunity available to them to learn. Fr. George Mathew, the Provincial Economer told the students about how they need to be open to changes and allow them to smoothen them and make them fine and polished like pebbles. Fr. Joseph Elavanal, the Executive Director of BREADS gave an orientation about the Finishing School.
Through this eight week residential course, we hope to give the 32 young people a happy and fruitful experience by living and learning together. The participants are youth who have completed skill training in our institutions and seeking employment through our intervention.
The youth from our institutions have been recognised for their skill competence and the additional investment through `Don Bosco Plus` will enhance their competence for the present job market. The students are from 4 different project locations in Karnataka and Kerala.
The students are in two groups for their classes. The day is full with sessions in English Language, Life Skill and Computer skills. There are also group activities, recreation and learning for the students as they adjust to people from different culture and language backgrounds.
We wish the group a good learning experience as the facilitators under the leadership of Fr. James, the Assistant Director are working hard to give them the best and equip them for the job market today.
