BIRDY Unveils New Digital Platform
The much-anticipated new website of the Bosco Institute of Research and Development for Youth (BIRDY) was officially inaugurated by Fr. Biju Michael, SDB, the Regional Head of Don Bosco South Asia, during a special session of the Leaders Meet. The event brought together key leaders and stakeholders of the Salesian community, underscoring the initiative’s importance in advancing youth development and digital outreach.
During the session, Mr. Shroen Deshmukh who briefly presented an insightful overview of the website, outlining its purpose, core features, and target audience. He explained that the platform is envisioned as a dynamic hub for sharing research outputs, learning materials, institutional updates, and ongoing initiatives of BIRDY thereby fostering collaboration, engagement, and knowledge exchange across the Salesian network and beyond.
The website was conceptualized, developed, and designed by Mr. Sunil Mukkath from Elastic Tree with the guidance of Fr Noel Maddhichetty and Mr. Shroen Deshmukh from Don Bosco LiFE-Resource Mission, who worked together were also responsible for structuring and curating the website’s content to ensure clarity, accessibility, and alignment with BIRDY’s mission and vision.
Following the presentation, Fr. Biju Michael officially launched the website, commending the team for their dedication and creativity in bringing the project to life. He emphasized the value of digital innovation in strengthening communication, enhancing transparency, and showcasing the impactful work carried out by the Salesian Province of Hyderabad.
The launch of the BIRDY website marks a significant milestone in promoting the mission and vision of Don Bosco. By embracing technology as a tool for empowerment, the Institute reaffirms its commitment to serving young people, enhancing visibility, and building collaborative bridges within the global Salesian family. This digital advancement not only modernizes outreach but also reflects a forward-looking approach in inspiring and connecting communities worldwide.
