MuseVention Reimagines Education in Don Bosco Schools
Don Bosco School, Park Circus, partnered with International STEAM Research (ISR), USA, to host two-day MuseVention 2025, an interdisciplinary exhibition from July 31 to August 1. From disaster mitigation drones to Formula 1 simulations, crop management models to architectural cityscapes, over 500 student prototypes transformed the campus into a vibrant launchpad for innovation. These young change makers didn’t merely present projects; they told stories of exploration, months in the making, guided by ISR-certified facilitators and fuelled by curiosity.
“The scope was staggering. Students tackled real-world challenges, blending science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics in a seamless dance of discovery,” acknowledged Principal Fr. V.C. George.
“Each prototype stood as a testament to invention literacy—proof that STEAM education goes far beyond textbooks,” said ISR CEO Dr George Panicker. “It empowers youth to envision, design, and build the future.”
If the students were the stars of MuseVention, the parents were its soul. For many families, this was their first glimpse into their child’s creative potential. “I couldn’t believe my son designed a warzone rescue robot. Don Bosco saw what I didn’t—his genius,” shared one parent, eyes brimming with pride.
In a profoundly emotional gesture, Certificates of Honour were awarded by ISR and Don Bosco to parents who supported their children’s innovation journeys. It was a powerful acknowledgment that behind every spark of creativity lies a home that nurtures it.
MuseVention also helped shift perspectives. Through engaging exhibits and heartfelt conversations, parents were encouraged to look beyond conventional career paths and embrace their child’s passions.
Principals and educators from leading institutions such as Calcutta Boys, Don Bosco Kalyani, South Point High, Modern High School, and Shri Shikshayatan joined the celebration. Many remarked that MuseVention 2025 rivalled global academic exhibitions in both concept and execution.
“It’s rare to see interdisciplinary projects of this calibre,” noted one educator. “Don Bosco and ISR have created a model for immersive learning that every school should aspire to.”
With some 2000 students participating, “MuseVention isn’t just preparing students for jobs—it’s preparing them for life,” said an ISR facilitator. With employers increasingly seeking versatile thinkers and collaborative innovators, events like MuseVention are bridging the gap between classroom learning and workplace demands. This experiential model aligns seamlessly with Education 4.0 and India’s National Education Policy 2020, which emphasizes critical thinking, holistic development, and adaptability.
