LUMINATA 2025: Promote Message of Truth and Hope
BOSCOM India organised Luminata 2025 – Celebrating communication online on March 8. The reflection sharing and discussion on the evolving role of communication in contemporary society brought together BOSCOM General Body Members, Media Animators, Salesian Family In-charges, and Advisors and Collaborators in the Salesian Media Ministry for an engaging discourse.
The programme commenced with an opening prayer, setting a reflective tone for the gathering. Fr. Francis Xavier SDB welcomed the participants and emphasised the significance of fostering responsible and faith-driven communication. Fr. Ernest Rosario, SDB, provided an overview of the event’s objectives. Fr. Joyston Machado SDB introduced the keynote speaker, Fr. Thomas Antony Raj, O. Praem., Director of Media and Communications for the Diocese of Jabalpur, highlighting his extensive experience in media and evangelisation.
Delivering the theme presentation on “Jubilee of Communication: Disarming, Informing, Sharing Hope,” Fr. Thomas Antony Raj emphasised the transformative power of communication in fostering truth, unity, and hope, particularly in an era marked by misinformation and digital saturation. He underscored the ethical responsibility of communicators, stressing the importance of integrity, transparency, and a commitment to truth in media practices. Participants were encouraged to use communication tools for inspiration, education and positive societal impact.
Following the presentation, an interactive Q&A session allowed participants to engage with the speaker, seeking clarifications and sharing insights. A discussion segment facilitated deeper reflection on the key themes, with participants exchanging perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in media ministry. The group discussion presentations provided a platform for attendees to articulate their reflections and propose insights for enhancing responsible and purpose-driven communication.
The session concluded with Fr. Ernest felicitating Sr. Theresa on being awarded the Golden Book Award. Fr. Thomas Anthony thanked the gathering for their active participation and the opportunity to be the keynote speaker. Fr. Joyston Machado SDB delivered a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speaker, coordinators, and participants for their contributions.
