Students of St John Bosco win National Kickboxing Championship

In a remarkable achievement, students from Salesian School in Sohra brought great pride to their institution and the state of Meghalaya by securing top honors at the National Kickboxing 2024 event organized by the National Kickboxing Federation of India in Siliguri. Derrick Dashankur Nongrum and Donborlang Lyngdoh clinched gold medals, while Lashanlang Susngi earned a bronze medal in the competition.

Speaking to Don Bosco Media, Father Alfonsius Rongrin, the principal of St. John Bosco School, expressed his delight and pride in the students' accomplishments. He highlighted that each winner received a commendable cash prize of Rs. 90,000. Additionally, Derrick and Donborlang were awarded scholarships of Rs. 20,000 per month, while Lashanlang received Rs. 12,000 per month.

The students were coached and guided by Mr. Nathaniel to excel in the championship. A warm reception was organized on the evening of June 18th at the principal's office, where Vice Principal Mr. Religious Sawian and Larry Pearson Warjri delivered inspiring speeches to honor their achievement.
