Women`s Day Celebrated with 650 SHG Members

The Self-Help Groups (SHG) celebrated Women`s Day at Don Bosco Youth Village Keeranur, Tiruchy. The Member of Legislative Assembly, Mr Inigo Irudayaraj of Tiruchirappalli East Constituency, presided over the function and addressed the gathering on the government schemes for women and encouraged them to avail themselves the same.
Father Agilan SDB, Provincial of Tiruchy, addressed the gathering and motivated them to higher goals in life and the Director of the Don Bosco Women Groups, Father John Barnabas, distributed the saplings to the participants. The celebration had various folk dances and other cultural events staged by women groups.
Father John Dharman SDB, Mr T Selvam, Councilor of Pudukottai Dt., Mr Ananth Manikkam industrialist, and Mrs Diviya Suresh, the Melapuduvayal Panchayat President, graced the function.
