Don Bosco Relic at Keezhmad (Aluva)

The people of Keeshmad with the Salesian Community received the casket with great enthusiasm and moved in procession already from Choondy. The motorcade and the procession on foot from the parish boundary saw great number of people participate.
The relic of Don Bosco was moved to Sacred Heart Church and Don Bosco, Keezhmad (Aluva) at 12.30 pm on 2 October. At Saint Pius X church, Choondy the casket was transferred to an open vehicle. Music Band and motor bikes accompanied the relic in procession. From St Joseph`s Wayside chapel, the faithful joined the procession on foot. After the customary prayer service in the parish church at Keezhmad, nearly seven thousand people prayed at the casket of Don Bosco. The concelebrated Holy Eucharist at 04.00 p.m. was presided over by Mar George Alencherry, Major Archbishop of Syro-Malabar church. After 08.00 pm the casket was taken to Don Bosco College (seminary) for the night vigil. The entire building was lit up to receive the father and founder, Don Bosco. The Salesian community spent the night in prayer around Don Bosco and crowned it with the Holy Eucharist and renewal of religious vows. The community then handed over the relic to Fr. Joyson from Don Bosco Cultural Centre, vennala who continued the pilgrimage to the Kochi area.
