Don Bosco Relic at St Mary`s Church, Chalakkudy

The church and campus at St. Mary`s Church was packed with the faithful from the parish and surrounding areas.

The relic of Don Bosco was venerated at St Mary`s Forane Church, Chalakkudy by an estimated number of more than fifteen thousand people. The casket was received at Carmel school premises and taken in procession to the parish church. In the church premises Mar Bosco Puthur, Curia Bishop of the Syro-Malabar Church, along with Fr. Jose Maliekal, the parish priest, garlanded the casket and led the casket to the church. It was laid at the centre of the church for veneration. During the next three hours thousands prayed at the relic with much devotion and faith. The Holy Eucharist was presided over by Bishop Bosco Puthur. After the Holy Eucharist, Johny, a popular film on the early life of Don Bosco in Malayalam, was screened in the church premises after the Eucharistic celebration.
